Top Nerdy 10: News Bites (12.29.16)

We’ve survived nerds, some would say barely, but here we are. We’re close to greeting 2017, a year full of wonderful nerdy potential. Regardless of what the new year may bring, know you can always escape in the nerdery. Be hopeful, look up and wonder, and most importantly be curious!

10 Be a Rebel Princess

We have to acknowledge the heavy loss the nerd community suffered this week. Carrie Fisher was one of a kind, but we cannot allow ourselves to forget all she stood for and what she inspired. I am taking a page from Captain Marvel herself, Brie Larson.

9 Scarlett Johansson

From one badass lady to another, congrats are in order to Scarlett for being the highest grossing actor in 2016! Her films made $1.2 billion world-wide! Ask for that raise, girl.

7 Beauty and the Beast

6 Debbie Reynolds

As I write this, news came in the iconic Debbie passed a day after losing her Carrie. My heart goes to the family during this trying time. As a nerd for classic films, Debbie was a staple in my home. I will always remember her, like this.

2 Metropolis

Seems this project is really early in it’s process, but the idea excites me. The gorgeously designical film, Metroplis may be headed to mini-series. Mr. Robot’s Sam Esmail, may be playing a part in bringing the story to us? Fingers crossed. See more here. If you haven’t seen the move, go find it.
