SDCC 2019: Hall H

It only took us six years, but we finally made it into the hallowed ground that is San Diego Comic Con’s Hall H!

Check out our recap of all of the shenanigans that happened while we were sleep deprived. Buckle up!

Terminator: Dark Fate

That trailer and sneak peek was so badass. The action, the intensity, the Arnold. Three words: Linda effing Hamilton.

Also, if you were wondering about Tim Miller’s fuck count.

The bet was set at 4. Arnold won his $20!

Top Gun: Maverick

Conan O’Brien crashed Hall H. Oh and he brought Tom Cruise with him.

Batman Beyond 20th Anniversary

The chemistry between Will Friedle and Kevin Conroy was identical to that of Terry and Bruce, even after all these years.

Marvel Games

The cast of the Avengers game were an absolute delight. Never a dull moment when you have Nolan North on stage.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

There were some tears as we took a look back on six seasons of S.H.I.E.L.D. as it was just announced prior to the panel that Season 7 will be the show’s last.

His Dark Materials

Stage/screen/television’s Lin-Manuel Miranda did not disappoint making his San Diego Comic Con debut. We were in the room where it happened (no, we are not apologizing for our Hamilton references).

Star Trek Universe

While Discovery and new animated series Below Decks (cannot wait for this) was met with much enthusiasm, the crowd went wild for Patrick Stewart and Picard. We also learned that Jeri Ryan, Brent Spiner, Jonathan Del Arco, Marina Sirtis, and Jonathan Frakes will all be returning as well! So much excite.

Westworld III

Evan Rachel Wood, Thandie Newton, and Tessa Thompson. Honestly, we couldn’t concentrate on anything else.

Women Who Kick Ass

The panel featured Shohreh Aghdashloo, Cobie Smulders, Freema Agyeman, Betty Gilpin, and last minute addition, Jeri Ryan. The topics varied from body image/self-esteem, the variety of roles being offered to women now in Hollywood, personal heroes, and brunch.

Marvel Studios

It’s been two weeks and we’re still reeling. Most of the news was merely a confirmation of what we were expecting in terms of films (we need to acknowledge the cast of The Eternals because holy bananas, Batman). That was until the final minutes of the panel where Fantastic Four, Mutants, and Blade were dropped in our laps. Got to hand it to Feige and the folks at Marvel for handing out Black Widow hats to everyone and then having Mahershala walk on stage and put on a Blade cap.

The theatrics get an A+ from us, as does the crowd for serenading Benedict.

But, the biggest moment for us was when Simu was introduced as Shang-Chi. Seeing him on stage, made us jump out of our seats. We’ve been massive fans of Simu for a long time and we are beyond thrilled for him to be joining the MCU! Look out, 2020 will be the year of Simu!

A massive shout-out as always to our photographer extraordinaire, Kevin (@djkastle) and to these nerds for being the best Hall H line buddies.

As always, stay curious!
