I have always been excited by makeup! I remember my first pre-teen makeup pallet I received back in sixth grade…boy do I wish I had experimented more with makeup before deciding to apply it on the bus, with no mirror, on my way to school.
Pretty much……
Luckily I know better now! It also helps when you are working with a better quality makeup. Makeup companies such as MAC and Covergirl have released some pretty impressive makeup lines inspired by various franchises. In 2013 Covergirl released the Capitol makeup line inspired by The Hunger Games Catching Fire.

MAC released the Disney Venomous Villains collection (these items are hard to find now, you may have to scour Amazon and Ebay to find them)
MAC also released this line in 2015 for the Cinderella movie:
Now, in honor of Star Wars Episode VII, Covergirl has done it again! They have released Star Wars makeup collections in the past, but their latest one is set to launch in September! Allure got an exclusive look at the collection which you can check out here.
Makeup artist Pat McGrath used the line to create six unique looks inspired by Star Wars. You can see a sneak peek at two of the looks below.

We’ve all seen how the power of makeup can transform the everyday person, but when you are cosplaying it can transform you into a whole other person. Below are just some examples of some of the impressive makeup artistry I have seen.
The Hillywood Show (@HillywoodShow) uses makeup to transform themselves into the various characters whose franchises they have parodied. (WARNING: the following videos may contain graphic content, viewer’s discretion advised)

Lucia Pittalis uses contouring and shading techniques to the extreme to transform her into just about any character. See some of my favorite looks below:
Mykie (@mykie) from Glam & Gore is currently in the final round of the NYX Face Awards landing among the Top Six! It’s no wonder she has gained so many supporters voting her to the top. (see more about Mykie in My Cosplay Top 10 on YouTube article) She is a true makeup ARTIST. See some of my favorites below:
Zombie Sloth (OMG I am obsessed with sloths!)

Emma from Kittiesmama, though she may be young , has been uploading makeup tutorials to Youtube for several years now. She is best known for her Monster High makeup tutorials in which her parents (who are avid cosplayers) create all of her costumes and wigs, and even step in to help with some of her eye makeup. Check out some of her impressive looks below:

And last, but not least, I couldn’t leave out this impressive makeup transformation by Shikarius Cosplays who transforms herself to look like Levi Ackerman from Attack on Titan.
