This is the final installment of our 2016 VanCAF recap (you can read Part I here & Part II here) and I like to think we saved the best for last. The loot we took home with us!!! While I gathered a few awesome prints and trinkets home with me, Jen’s stash wins all the awards.
Look at all that pretty! Seriously. Here is just a few of our favourite pieces.
Prints by Lillian Lai
Jen just immediately gravitated towards the umbrella girl print as it reflected our beautiful city perfectly and the kitty baker is fitting for our Nerdie Foodie.
Print by Desirae Salmark
Badass Rey + Adorbs Poe + Completely Clueless Finn = Star Wars Episode VIII. Pretty much 😉
Postcard by Ashley Guillory
We absolutely bonded with Ashley over our love for Ed Sheeran. The little green X on his guitar! Ah, the details.
Stickers by Eugenia Leung
Jen couldn’t resist. Not only is Puglie so darn adorable, macarons and cupcakes, people, macarons and cupcakes!
Prints by Zoe Si
A motivational print for Jen and mug print for me!
Pins and stickers by Alexia Tryfon
Coffee and doughnut cats!!! What’s super adorable is that the Co & Do pins actually hold hands when placed together. SO CUTE!
Pins by Jeff Chiba Stearns & Doug Savage
My rhinocicorn and hedgehog pins! I heart them both.
Poster and sketch by Doug Savage
Speaking of Doug, this is one of the coolest Where’s Waldo-esque posters that I’ve ever seen. If you want to take a closer look at the poster and Doug’s process in creating it, follow the link here! And he was kind enough to sketch me my own awkward chicken!
Comic and sketch by Lucy Bellwood
BOATS! Lucy is not only a talented story-teller but she knows her way around a ship. Get your hands on a copy of Baggywrinkles, it is just a swashbuckling fun time!
Comic and sketch by David Dedrick & Ian Boothby
Ian basically berated Dave for his inability to draw a snake whilst Dave was sketching this on the inside cover of their comic Adam & Steve. After a lot of laughter on both sides of the table, this was the result. These guys are hilarious.
Caricature by Shoko Takahata
Ahhh, what can we say other than Shoko is one talented woman. Roni’s eyebrows are definitely the stars of this sketch 😉
Lynn Johnston’s For Better or For Worse Treasuries
I bought Volume 1 and Jen bought Volume 2. We thought it was fitting. We’ve both been looking for a copy for a while and when we saw them being sold at the entrance to VanCAF, we knew it was meant to be 🙂
And that’s a wrap on our VanCAF recap! We’re already looking forward to next year!
‘Til next time,
Rach & Jen
