Convenience:

Choose a location that’s convenient for all parties involved. After all, half the fun of an adventure is getting there together! If everyone lives in different parts of town or even in different countries, try to find a happy medium that everyone can agree on. Once you’ve decided on a location, figure out the logistics, like transportation and lodging. Will you be carpooling in your new SUV from Edmunds? Flying? Staying in a hotel, Airbnb, or campground? The more details you can iron out ahead of time, the better.

Cost:

One of the first things you’ll want to do when planning an epic adventure with friends is figure out how much it’s going to cost and how you’re going to split up the bill. When we travel, we always use Splitwise. It is the easiest way to keep track of every expense and the app does all the math for you. You can pay at the end of each day or just wait til the end of the trip. No one feels like they’re being taken advantage of financially, and everyone can relax and enjoy the trip, knowing that they’re not breaking the bank.

Communication:

This is key for any group outing but especially important for an epic adventure. From the very beginning, ensure everyone is on the same page about the plan and what they’re comfortable doing. No one wants to feel left out or like they’re being dragged along on someone else’s trip. So whether you’re planning a weekend getaway or a cross-country road trip, take the time to touch base with everyone involved and ensure everyone is equally as excited about the plan.

Compromise:

Not everyone likes doing things the same way, and that’s okay! In fact, it’s what makes group trips so much fun. Everyone gets to bring their own unique perspective and experiences to the table. However, this can also lead to disagreements about how to spend your time or which activities to do while on your adventure. So, whenever possible, try to compromise with your fellow adventurers. Remember, it’s not about winning or losing, it’s about making memories together that will last a lifetime. This really just comes down to choosing your travel partners wisely. It is best to travel with similar style to yours. Even if not, people don’t have to hang 24/7 with each other. It is important to take time for yourself as well.

Cameras:

Last but not least, don’t forget to document your epic adventure! Whether you’re snapping photos on your phone or carrying around a big fancy camera, make sure to take plenty of pictures so you can remember this special trip for years to come. And if you really want to go all out, consider investing in a GoPro or other action camera so you can capture all your exciting escapades in high-definition video. The amount of gear I would have if I could.

By following these five simple tips, you can be sure that your next group outing will be one for the ages! Spending time with friends is one of the best ways to make memories that will last a lifetime, so get out there and start planning your next epic adventure today. After all, you only live once!
