Nerdstalgia: Disney’s Rescue Rangers

There’s no case too big, no case too small, if you need help just call Chip-Chip-Chip Chip and Dale, Rescue Rangers! Welcome back, Nerds! If you were a kid of the 90’s I’m sure you remember the Disney after school block. I looked forward to this every week day when I got home from school. Duck Tales, Goof Troop, Tale Spin, Darkwing Duck, Gargoyles….all great shows! One that we certainly cannot leave out is Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers.

I’ve been compared to the lovely Gadget Heckwrench because we are both crafty ladies capable of taking a bunch of random crap and putting it together to create something new! I personally am quite honored to be compared to someone with such ingenuity.

You know how when you’re a kid you sometimes develop a crush on cartoon characters that might not be human? I may have had a crush on Chip. I mean, come on! He was such the charming daredevil, wasn’t he?

And of course, I know you’ve all been waiting patiently for it: the theme song! What was it about those catchy Disney show theme songs? They definitely stuck with us even more than the actual show sometimes, I think. Without further ado:

I would never get home on time to watch Duck Tales, so Rescue Rangers was the first show of the Disney Afternoon block that I would watch. I don’t typically like to play favorites, but I always loved Chip. What? He’s the Indiana Jones of the outfit!

The best thing about RR was the team of characters; Monty, Chip, Dale, and the amazing Gadget. I loved how the boys were dependent on Gadget and her mechanical engineer brain, Monty was the muscle, Dale was the heart, and Chip was the leader. It was a great example of a team, and they had awesome adventures.

The one thing my romantical 9 year old heart hoped for, never happened. Chip and Gadget may have been the first shipping I wished for. LOL! It was totally unnecessary, but man was it implied.
