Nerdie Foodie: New Year’s Eve Drinks

Welcome to a super special edition of Nerdie Foodie. That’s right! New Year’s Eve is only a few days away, so we decided it would be very apropos to give you one last Nerdie Foodie post for the year! I hope you have enjoyed all the posts this year and I can’t wait to see what next year will bring for us here at Nerdy Curiosities! So to bid this year farewell, I have compiled a few drinks for your New Year’s Eve party tonight, and hopefully one of these drinks will quench your thirst while you’re waiting for the Times Square Ball Countdown to happen! ..Seriously, this is a pretty boozy post, but don’t you worry, we have some kid friendly and designated driver friendly drinks on hand as well! Let’s go!

Kids, Designated Drivers, Non-Alcoholic Drinkers

First up, let’s check out these awesome non-alcoholic drinks!

Hot Cocoa

For cold winter nights (and especially New Year’s Eve) there’s nothing like a hot cup of cocoa to warm up the soul. But for us nerdie foodies, why not take it up a notch to make a Star Wars version? Ashleigh W (from Living Off Love and Coffee) shows us how to make some hot cocoa Yoda style! Check out the recipe here!

Hot Apple Cider

Another soul warming drink, hot apple cider! Only this time, Rosanna Pansino (Nerdy Nummies) shows us how to turn our hot apple cider into a Golden Snitch Caramel Apple Cider! Say wha-?! Too cool! Check out how to make this deliciousness below!

Butterbeer

Nothing says winter like butterbeer! Thanks J.K. Rowling! Jimmy Wong, Ashley Adams (from Feast of Fiction) and their guest Ethan Newberry show us how to make butterbeer three different ways! Check it out below!

Felix Felicis

Also known as liquid luck for those Muggles out there, Rosanna and her guest Mamrie Hart (You Deserve a Drink) show us how to make a non-alcoholic and alcoholic version of Felix Felicis! Check it out below!

The Booziest Section Ever
(Please drink legally and most importantly, responsibly)

No seriously, please drink responsibly. Here we go!

Whiskey

For those who like a bit of whiskey or in this case almost all whiskey in their glass, Ann (from Nerds and Nomsense) gives us The Kingslayer! Check out this Game of Thrones inspired drink here!

And finally, to round out our cocktails for the night, Tara (from The Geeky Hostess) shares with us her Hocus Pocus cocktail. Now this drink can also be made during Halloween as well (Bonus!). Made with Chambord and champagne, check out the recipe here! And another bonus, Tara shares two recipes for Jello shots in the same post! Again, very Halloween, so to make it more New Year’s Eve-y, maybe skip the RIP place card…. and the spider ring. They are very festive drinks and shots for both holidays!

And there you have it! Fun drinks for all ages! And of course all of these drinks could be a boozy drink (including the non-alcoholic ones). Please drink responsibly and have a Happy New Year!
