Nerdie Foodie: Murder, She Baked

Hello Nerdie Foodies! How are we fairing after the 100^th post celebrations? We survived here at NC and now onto post 101! I recently came across a Hallmark Channel movie called “Murder, She Baked: A Peach Cobbler Mystery”. It reminded me of a book that I read years ago as the main character’s name triggered my memory. Hannah Swensen. Turns out, Hallmark Channel is turning the Hannah Swensen book series by Joanne Fluke into a movie series and currently have 5 movies.

I loved the first couple books but now I don’t remember why I stopped reading the series in the first place. Each book has recipes inserted into the book and I for one would love to try all of them one day. I have tried the cream puff recipe and it turned out really well. Hannah Swensen is technically supposed to be the red-headed owner of The Cookie Jar bakery in Lake Eden. But in the Hallmark series, blonde-haired Alison Sweeney portrays Hannah Swenson very well. I’ll let that little minor detail of hair colour difference slide.  Let’s check out a few of those recipes!

Plum Pudding Murder (Book #12)

In Plum Pudding Murder, Hannah makes cheesy biscuits. Maiu (Toronto Cooks) tested out Hannah’s recipe and swears that these cheesy biscuits are better than the ones from Red Lobster. Check out the recipe here!

I’m not sure which book in the series Elizabeth Miche (Just A Pinch Recipes) read to find this recipe. But it sounds delicious and it looks like it was a huge success when she tested the recipe. Check out the recipe here!
