Welcome back, Nerdie Foodies! Ready for another essential recipe? This week we’re talking about buttermilk! A useful ingredient for quite a few recipes. But not enough to use up a full jug before it expires. So why buy a large jug of buttermilk when you only need a couple of ingredients to make just enough for all of your baking needs? Let’s go check out this simply foodie recipe!
What You’ll Need
|Pyrex Measuring Cup||Milk|
|1 Chopstick or Spoon||Bottle of Lemon Juice|
- Fill the Pyrex cup with 1 Cup of milk.
- Add 1 Tablespoon of Lemon Juice to the milk.
|*Tip: If you don’t have a bottle of lemon juice and only have real lemons, cut the lemon in half and squeeze out the juice of one half. Juice from one half of a lemon is good for 2 Cups of Milk.|
- Using a spoon or chopstick, stir the milk and lemon juice together until it’s well combined.
- Let it sit for at least 10 minutes. Small curds will begin to form when the acidity from the lemon juice reacts with a base like milk. Once the curds start to increase in amount in the Pyrex Cup, it is ready to be used in your recipe.
