Welcome back Nerdie Foodies! Whose excited for another awesome mixtape courtesy of Star Lord? That’s right! Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is premiering tomorrow! And let me tell you, we are obsessed with Baby Groot. And Chris Pratt, but mainly Groot. Let’s go check out some fun recipes that will get you ready for the next Guardians adventure!

Galaxy Mirror Glazed Doughnuts

What’s our destination? Somewhere in the galaxy. What a better way to represent the galaxy than with these cool, mirror glazed doughnuts? And granted, you can definitely buy the doughnuts and upgrade them with the galaxy glaze. Check out the how-to from (Real Moms) here!

Gamora

Drinks

A complex female, yet she is someone I felt I could relate to in the first GOTG movie. Here’s a toast to Gamora! Jennifer (from Diary of a Working Mom) shares with us her mocktail recipe inspired by Gamora. Check out the recipe here!

Popsicles

If you’re wanting something more geared towards the adults, YouTuber Cristina Viseau shares with us her recipe for pomegranate-berry prosecco popsicles! She recommends it can also be made with champagne or sparkling wine, as well as plain water or sparkling water for the kid-friendly version. Check out the video below!

I Am Groot

Bran Muffins

Who is ready for the army of Groot goodies? We certainly are here in NC! Let’s start off with something easy: Groot bran muffins! This is definitely a kid friendly recipe that was made by kids for kids. Join YouTuber Hallecake and her friend in turning store-bought muffins into a mainly healthy Groot snack! Check out the video below! For a written recipe, you can find it here.

Churros

Groot churros? Yes please! This recipe is from Vanessa (Brite & Bubbly) and she uses a churro maker. If you don’t have a churro maker, no problem. Follow the churro batter recipe, instead of piping the batter into the churro maker, have a star tip at the end of your piping bag and pipe tubes of batter into hot oil to fry them instead. Check out the recipe here!

  1. I was excited about the Groot bran muffins until I found out that they just bought regular bran muffins from the store. ☹️

    • It’s an alternative and definitely kid friendly if you’re worried about them using kitchen appliances. If not, you can always search for a bran muffin recipe and test it out with your nerdlings and decorate it as Groot. If you do attempt these recipes, send us pictures of the end results! We love to see how y’all have created! 🙂

  2. Looks like fun projects to try with the kids. My son loves Groot.

  3. My kids would like the Groot treats. I would like the drinks.
