Nerdie Foodie: Avengers Infinity War

What is up Nerdie Foodies! Did we survive the opening weekend that was the latest installment of the MCU? If you don’t know what I am talking about, then you’ve been living under a rock or have been diligently avoiding all things Avengers: Infinity War. Don’t worry, this post is totally SPOILER FREE!!!! After all, it’s all about the food in this corner of NC! Now normally I would have given y’all ten great recipes, but I couldn’t help myself and had to give you foodies 13 recipes instead. Bonus! Let’s get to it!

Infinity Stone Macarons
(Keto Diet Friendly)

As y’all know (or if you’re new to Nerdie Foodie) I love a good macaron. So when I came across Brett’s recipe from the blog Mama’s Geeky, I had to share it with y’all! This recipe is friendly for those whom are on the Keto Diet and is the French Mac. Check out the recipe here, and check out the video below for the tutorial!

Avengers Shawarma

We are bringing back this wrap from the archives that is The Avengers. And who doesn’t love a good shawarma and the yumminess that is tzatziki? That is where YouTube sensation Andrew Rea of Binging with Babish comes in with his completely homemade shawarma recipe for your Avengers movie marathon binge watching! Check out the video below!

Wakandian Popcorn

You can’t go to the movies and not have popcorn. But because this is Infinity War we’re talking about, that requires something a little more special… berbere spiced popcorn! Geeks Who Eat have put a lot of thought into creating this specially spiced popcorn. They decided to choose a spice mix that would best represent Wakanda, or at least the area they think Wakanda would most likely be found. In this case they turned to Ethiopia and the widely popular Berbere Seasoning mix which you can either try and find in your specialty stores or follow their link and make your own batch of this smoky, sweet and spicy flavour (I haven’t tried Berbere spice so I’ll take their word for it) Check out the recipe here!

Strawberry Crescent Braid

One of the badass female Avengers, Scarlet Witch comes to mind! Jennifer (from My Boys & Their Toys) shares with us this pastry treat that reminds me of my childhood – pastry filled with strawberry jam and cream cheese. Yum! And what’s even better to boot is that this strawberry and cream cheese crescent braid is super easy to whip up! Check out the recipe here and follow along with the video tutorial below!

Raspberry Jam Cupcakes

This is another Scarlet Witch inspired recipe because I just couldn’t decide which of the two recipes to showcase to y’all, so I put them both into this post. Patty (from My No-Guilt Life) has created this recipe that is super easy to follow which you can check it out here! This cupcake is a thing of beauty! Just look at it in all it’s glory!

Galactically Colourful Cupcakes

Another badass female in the MCU – Gamora. So, it’s only fitting that these cupcakes are just as badass to not only look at but to taste. And how can you go wrong with a multi-coloured cupcake? Jana Seitzer (from whisky + sunshine) shares the recipe with us here! This cupcake is another beaut and colourful to boot!

Mont Blanc Cupcakes

Groot. Groot was too adorable to pass up in this post. Now a moody tween? Teenager? In any case, baby Groot has grown up some since the last time we saw him in GotG Vol. 2. Giselle Yeaegi Park (from The Busy Spatula) uses the Mont Blanc recipe and adapted the technique to create Groot’s face! Check out the recipe and tutorial here!

The Three Originals

Three of the original Avengers – Cap, Hulk, and Iron Man, have been turned into drink form by Five Little Chefs. What’s great about these drink recipes is that it’s not only nerdling friendly but it’s a great way to bring in a science lesson on sugar density and how science can be used in mixology. Check out the drink recipes here and bring some STEM into your homes Avengers style!

The metal of all the really cool technology of Wakanda. Thankfully Tania of Lola Lambchops created this fun frozen drink for all to enjoy as we wait in anticipation for more all things Avengers! It is beautiful gem of a drink. Check out her homage recipe to Shuri and Vibranium here!

Elixir Cocktail

You wouldn’t think that a man like Doctor Strange is a fruity cocktail kind of guy. Apparently, Mai Tais are a personal favourite according to the more recent comics. Just Plum Crazy has created another drink, just as fruity and with rum. Only it looks more mystical than the usual Mai Tai. Check out the recipe here!

Another great recipe from My No-Guilt Life is this Nebula inspired Chambord based cocktail! Now I know what you’re thinking, Nebula isn’t an Avenger but the daughter of Thanos. She may be Gamora’s adopted sister with a lot of baggage, but she is still family (at least for our fave green badass female). Plus, the drink looks really galactical and cool. Check out the recipe here!

Infinity Gauntlet

We’ve made it to the Infinity Gauntlet! Created by Amy Ratcliffe (from Nerdist), this cocktail contains all the Infinity Stones, so beware of this powerful drink! It is tequila after all. Check out this gauntlet recipe in all it’s glory here!

Avengers Cake

And finally, this cake just sums it all up. If you can’t decide on which Infinity stone you would like to protect (or take control of if that is your thing), why not have this Infinity Stone surprise cake for you and your fellow Avengers? Thanks to Christy’s daughter (from Christy’s Cozy Corners) you can find this fun tutorial here!

For all things Avengers, it has been a blast to share with y’all all these wonderful and fun recipes. If you haven’t seen Avengers: Infinity War, you should definitely go see it while it’s still in theatres!
