Nerdie Foodie: 6 Years of NC

Can you believe it’s been 6 years of NC, Nerdie Foodies? That’s right! We have been celebrating our 6th anniversary all week long and are wrapping the party up with a recipe (or two) of our favourite foods, nerdified! Let’s dive right in!

Roni: Pizza

Roni’s got a few favourite food items, one of them is pizza. She also is a fan of broccoli. Therefore, it makes sense that the broccoli pizza from Pixar’s Inside Out is a must try for her! You can’t go wrong if you love super cheesy, artisanal pizza! We have two versions of this pizza. The first one is from Disney’s Dishes by Disney series with their take on a mini version of Disgust’s broccoli pizza on an English Muffin! Check out the video tutorial below!

If you’re wanting a homemade sourdough broccoli pizza, you can’t go wrong with one of my favourite Youtube channels: Binging with Babish! Andrew Rea shows us the movie’s version before he goes ahead and kicks it up a notch and creates a Babish version (which is 100 times cheesier, by the way). Check out his video tutorial below!

Rach: Sushi

Rach’s favourite food hands down (and I can attest to this) is anything and everything sushi. It wasn’t surprising to me that she would choose culinary delight without hesitation nor caveats – at least I don’t think she would add in any caveats. If you’ve been following our Twitch channel (shameless plug: if you haven’t, you totally should – https://www.twitch.tv/nerdycurious), then you’ll know Rach’s love for anime and Studio Ghibli. Which is why this sushi recipe is perfect: Totoro Inari Sushi. Stephanie (from I Am A Food Blog) shares with us her recipe here!

Jams: Taco

Jams’ favourite food is the taco. My first thought for Jams was the Naco from Kim Possible! When I presented this idea, she was down for it! In the words of Jams, “they’re basically a deconstructed taco”. Wise words Jams, wise words. And what better than to follow THE Naco recipe from Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable themselves! Check out the video tutorial below from Christy Carlson Romano and Will Friedle!

Jen: Burger

I love a burger that is juicy, flavourful, and all encased in a fluffy bun! What better than the iconic Krabby Patty from Spongebob Square Pants! Of course, I have to give credit to the Babish for not only recreating the Krabby Patty, but creating a Babish-ified (aka. gourmet and handmade) Krabby Patty! You don’t want to miss this mouth-watering double whammy recipe! Check out the video tutorial below!

And there you have it! Five delicious and utterly nerdy recipes to try out yourselves. We can’t thank everyone enough for all the love and support over the last five years as we head into our sixth year of NC! Happy 6 years Nerdie Foodies! Here’s to many more!

‘Til next time,
