FanExpo Vancouver 2020: Day 2 Panels

Greetings, Curious Crowd! Welcome back as we continue our look back at FanExpo Vancouver 2020. Here are the highlights from Day 2 on the Main Stage!

Tom Welling

Tom Welling kicked off Sunday’s lineup of panels with stories from the set of Smallville which included a runaway snowmobile incident with co-star Michael Rosenbaum. He also talked about his upcoming project with Brendan Fraser, The Professionals. Bonus: Producers didn’t need too much convincing Welling to be a part of Crisis on Infinite Earths. He thought the storyline was such a unique and fun idea.

Giancarlo Esposito

Giancarlo Esposito gushed about his current love for Baby Yoda. He’s just as smitten as the rest of us! Esposito dropped quite a few behind the scenes tidbits regarding The Mandalorian including how there are multiple versions of The Child (the one with the most power can wiggle his ears) and how he has already broken three DarkSabers while filming. We also got to witness Esposito being inducted as a honourary member of the 501st Outer Rim Garrison! Congratulations! Bonus: We will be finding out how Moff Gideon acquired the DarkSaber next season.

Bruce Campbell

Bruce Campbell hosted his own panel and things went squirrely almost immediately. Campbell shared stories from the sets of Burn Notice (real explosions only), The Evil Dead films, and My Name Is Bruce (there must be fans out there that probably still thinks he feeds his cats alcohol). Bonus: Want to smell as good as Campbell? He wears Hove, a cologne his wife picked out for him.

The Cast of Battlestar Galactica

Aaron Douglas, Kandyse McClure, Michael Hogan, and Tahmoh Penikett were on hand reminiscing about their time on Battlestar Galactica. The proudly Canadian cast is still very much a family though the show has been off the air for more than a decade. At the end of the panel, Douglas had the entire crowd chanting, “So say we all!”.

Brian Baumgartner & Oscar Nunez

The Office stars, Brian Baumgartner and Oscar Nunez, had the entire crowd in stitches from the top of the panel. Pretty sure we laughed through the entirety of this panel. Nunez vividly described Steve Carell’s supple lips and Baumgartner recalled the infamous one-shot chili scene. Bonus: When Bryan Cranston guest-starred on The Office, they almost got carbon monoxide poisoning.
